My name is Marek Hawk and I am a professional trader of Horizon Trading Team. In today’s article, I will show you how I approach different timeframes with combined strategies which helped me to get stable income from my trading business. Recurrently, a trader can be caught by a specific trading style, which he would like to polish to the highest level. It is adequate, but why shouldn’t a trader use his/her skills for the diversification just linked to various trading styles build on diverse time periods? It is one of the most effective ways how to make a stable living from trading despite essential space for developing trader’s strategies.

Month and Week Trading Strategies

If a trader is holding a position longer then one day, we talk about a swing trading strategy. Of course, a trader can hold the position for a month if the trading setup requires that. I like this trading style very much as it does not involve intense focus and time cost. You can just leave your money working for you which leads to very effective time management. For beginners it is also a good strategy starter because a new trader will learn that time spent with the charts does not corelate with income, not in trading industry.

The perfect time frame, for holding the position for a month or similar, is caught by 1-day and 4 hours periods.

Examples:

The pair EURUSD offered us a nice swing trade on 1-day timeframe. The trade was opened for a few weeks and we let our capital work for us. We used Horizon Level for spotting the place where smart money would like to gain the position.

A little bit faster approach offers a week trading strategy. I like to trade the strategy on 1-hour and 4 hours chart because trade is usually closed within a few days.

British Pound against US Dollar offered a nice opportunity during previous week. Horizon Level worked perfectly, and the trade went directly to our take-profit. The trade was close within a week.

From the experience I am sure that the swing strategies attempts its money management with lower risk than day trading strategies due to their frequency of trading. Traders can risk higher percentage of the capital, generally, however due to lower time pressure for analysis, naturally traders tend to select more profitable scenarios as the result. The beginner had better stick with the techniques which helps him to improves his/her skill and to gain his/her confidence.

Day Trading Strategies

Day trading strategies operate with opening and closing the trades in one day, it doesn’t allow to leave trader’s position open during the night. Day trading path takes trader in journey of more demanding risk, money management and discipline. A risk per trade is commonly lower in comparison with swing strategies, nevertheless higher returns are compensated by increased frequency of trading. Because of that trading itself is more intense and requires more focus.

If you are not sure which path suits you best, here, you will probably find the answer. It is a useful writing about the selection of strategies linked to time requirements, personality type, competitive advantage, trading plan and more.

The currency pair is going through a middle-term downtrend and using the know-how of swing strategy analysis gives a trader the advantage of opening intraday trades on the same instrument for the benefit of additional raise of trader’s equity.
Using similar scenario for British Pound vs Japanese Yen on 15-minute intraday period. Horizon Level helps to get into the trade with the smart money flow.

Conclusion

In this article I characterized the difference between a month, week and day trading strategies. Our team uses all these tactics considering diversification, time effectivity, structured day trading and consistent income. Month and week trading strategy attempt to take trades for longer-time periods, meaning that a trader can let his/her money work while is doing something else. Day trading strategy is more focused on consistency and higher return, though demands more time and focus.

It is possible to combine the techniques together with the same or similar tactics and use it for the effective diversification based on trading multiple time periods. The benefit will be raised and stabilized income with almost no additional time cost.
